Bioplastic
Madrid, 2023
Stitching, weaving, and building with bioplastic is a practice that demands patience. The process involves a lot of trial and error—at times, you feel more like a scientist than a designer.
A significant amount of time goes into perfecting the right "recipe" for these materials, requiring patience and flexibility to embrace every unexpected outcome, which is quite common with bioplastics. The pieces constantly shift and change during experimentation. I’ve learned to accept these transformations, even when the final result after drying isn’t as visually appealing as it initially was.
One of the most rewarding aspects of working with biomaterials is their recyclability. Above all, the experience of working with natural materials—understanding their properties and discovering how we can create beautiful, sustainable art in harmony with nature—is truly remarkable.
