"In the Shadow of the Pattern"

It is often thought that a pattern is the most technical and least creative part of a garment. Over time and with experience, I have learned that the relationship between a pattern and the finished garment is fundamental and vital. Creating a pattern is the beginning of a journey through lines, calculations, fabric trials... This is where the design starts to take shape in three dimensions, only to return to the paper, correct, adjust, redraw, assemble, and finally sew.

This piece is based on the fact that a pattern is essential for making a basic garment. The pattern is generated from traditional blocks, which are then modified to transform it into a specific model.

"In the Shadow of the Pattern" represents the combination of the most important aspects of my work: the pattern and discarded materials. Pattern-making is the means of creating simple or complex garments, and using waste or bioplastic is a sustainable way to add value to the garment in progress.
